JES consolidates a 24+ item Bill of Material for a naval fleet rack-mount application with custom manufacturing and expert engineering-focused sourcing  
 
The Engineering and Supply Chain Challenge
A leading Military/Homeland Security Company sought a solution to their custom engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing challenges for a rack-mount system used in a Naval fleet application. The rack-mount system is an integrated slide kit / mechanical assembly that included in excess of 24 interoperating mechanical components. 
 
The Engineering and Supply Chain Solution
The Company met with JES’ Military/Homeland Security Sales and Engineering Team early in its design engineering phase to discuss the aluminum ball bearing slides required in the rack-mount application. Knowing that it can add value to the Company’s processes, JES articulated a broadened solution proposal to the Company that included the custom engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing of the entire bill of material (in excess of 24 components) for the rack-mount system. These components included aluminum ball bearing slides with integrated closed position captivity, brackets, tray, cable management system, numerous other sheet metal components, a large assortment of hardware and fasteners, and other mechanical components.
 

 
JES Engineers a Ruggedized Rack-Mount Solution for a Military Communication System  The Engineering Challenge

A leading engineering Company that is instrumental in developing systems that will become tomorrow’s tools of the Information Warfare era sought mechanical engineering and custom manufacturing expertise for a new rack-mounted communication system.   The Engineered SolutionThe Company sent JES physical samples of its communication system components (two radios and power supplies) and specified the dimensions of the enclosure into which the communication system would be installed. Using Pro/ENGINEER®, JES designed (and then custom manufactured) the ruggedized rack-mount kit, which included a pair of aluminum slides, brackets for the slides, a tray for situating the radios and power supplies, cushioned hold-down brackets for the power supplies, a front panel, and hardware kits.
