Slide Mounting Brackets

Mounting Brackets

Jonathan Engineered Solutions slides  can be mounted in several fashions.  Two popular mounting methods are:

  • Hard Mounted; directly to stationary / cabinet structures, or
  • Bracket Mounted; with the use of RETMA / EIA-ANSI Mounting Brackets.

If you’re familiar with the slide series required for your application, you can head straight to the Downloads section of this page to find your corresponding bracket kit to add to your quote.

EIA Rail Pitch Pattern

JES Mounting Brackets are attached to the slide rail stationary member to act as an adapter between the slide rail and typical electronic rack structure rails.  These brackets are available to correctly position the slide rail relative to the cabinet mounting rail pattern, in the vertical and horizontal planes, allow the front and rear of the slide rail to be supported by these brackets, and may allow greater cabinet rail to rail depth mounting beyond the overall slide rail length.

JES Mounting Brackets are available in both Recessed and Non-Recessed shapes to accommodate a wide range of mounting situations.  Refer to the illustration showing both the Recessed (Joggle Bend) and the Non-Recessed (90 degree bend) configurations.  Note in some cases the JES Brackets can be attached in front of or behind the cabinet rail surface.

To compliment the bracket selection and to provide convenient methods of mounting to enclosures without tapped cabinet rails, the use of JES Bar Nuts is suggested.  These items contain a series of holes, tapped, to replace individual hardware items.  (See Figure Below)

The bracket lengths are considered as “short” or “long” and in specific cases a mix of short and / or long brackets is possible.  (See Figure Below)

JES offers brackets with multiple mounting options depending on slide height.  Most JES slides will mount to the centerline of the bracket (1).  Other JES slides will mount to locations slightly above the centerline (2) or to locations further away from the bracket centerline (3).  In some slide to bracket installations, it is common to have the front bracket use only the centerline (1) and the rear of slide to use hardware locations shown either (2) or (3).  In consideration of attaching a bracket to the slide, will properly locate the slide and bracket in relationship to the pitch pattern on an enclosure rail (4).
